The nurse cannot see inside your app.
They do however see limited communication status indicators, including:
- Whether a clinic visit notification was successfully delivered to your app or email
- Whether you’ve viewed the clinic visit in the parent app
- Whether a medication expiration reminder was delivered to your app or email
- Whether you viewed the medication’s expiration details in the parent app
These indicators simply help the nurse know if important messages reached you.
You’ll be able to view:
- General student information (ie. name; grade, student ID, school name, etc.)
- Recent clinic visits and why your child was seen
- Active medications stored at school for your child(ren)
- Medication expiration dates and reminders
- Coming 2026-2027: Any required health forms that still need to be submitted
Information is used solely to:
- Help nurses manage clinic visits and medications
- Notify parents about clinic visits and medication expiration reminders and alerts
- Allow parents to view updated student health records
- Support school health reporting and compliance
- Keep the app secure and running smoothly
-
You can turn off notifications entirely and simply open the app at any time to view all clinic visit details.
-
You can keep push notifications on (to receive a quick, one-time “ping” to your phone each time your child is seen) while turning off email notifications, if you prefer fewer messages, or vice versa.
Go to Settings in the app and toggle Face ID / Biometric Login to “On.” If your phone asks for permission, tap Allow.
We highly recommend keeping this turned on for quick and secure access to your parent app.
Yes. Inside the app, go to Settings → Change Password.
Depending on your settings, you’ll receive a notification to your phone and/or email, when the nurse documents the visit or a medication is expiring or expired.
We HIGHLY RECOMMEND allowing both push notifications and mmail notifications so you receive alerts both to your email and directly to your mobile device.
However, regardless of your notification settings, you can view a summary of each child’s clinic visits and medication alerts within the app under the alerts section (bell icon) and within the ‘Clinic’ section.
No. We never sell, trade, or share your or your child’s information for marketing or advertising. Your data is only used to support school health services.

Your child’s safety and privacy come first. School health information is protected under FERPA, and all of our systems follow strict data-security standards. Your child’s health data is safe and secure.
Not at this time. The app is one-way only — it shows clinic visits and medication alerts. If you need to contact the nurse, please contact your child’s school clinic directly.
For purposes of communication from the school clinic to the parents via the parent app, the app receives information pertaining to a student’s general demographic information, their clinic visits and medications. The app may also include parent/guardian information for the purpose of communication, as well as account information and communication preferences, such as notification settings and language preferences. The app also collects basic device/app performance data for security and app functionality. And, for the nurses ability to view that relevant communications within the app were delivered and viewed by the assigned parents.
If your child isn’t appearing in the app, it may be due to one of the reasons:
1. Your child’s school is not yet part of the MyCabinet rollout. This would occur if you logged in from one school’s request but another child’s school is not yet participating.
2. The app is connected only to the “enrolling parent’s” email address.
MyCabinet matches students to the enrolling parent on file with the school. If the enrolling parent changed for one or more of your children, you may no longer see that student in your app.
Please reach out to your school to confirm which parent is listed as the ‘enrolling parent’ and that the email address is the same.
3. Your child has turned 18, which changes FERPA privacy rights.
Under FERPA, when a student turns 18, their educational and health privacy rights transfer from the parent to the student. Because of this, the school nurse can only share health information with a parent if:
- the student provides written consent, or
- disclosure is allowed under a specific FERPA exception.
For questions or to update permissions, please contact your child’s school directly.
Access is very limited:
- You (parents/guardians): Only see your own child’s information
- School nurses and approved staff: Only what they need to care for your child
- MyCabinet School Health technical team: Only when needed to maintain or support the system, under strict controls
Information may also be shared if required by law or during an emergency to protect a child’s safety.
If you move within the same district and school system and that school uses the MyCabinet School Health parent app, your child’s profile will automatically switch to the new school once the school updates their enrollment. This can take several days or weeks based on your school system’s data transfer process.
If not, your app will no longer display school health information for that child(ren).
As long as your children are all attending participating schools and you are the assigned ‘enrolling parent’ for each of those children, you’ll see each child listed in the app under the ‘Students’ section. Messages and alerts will populate in the alerts section for all of your registered children.
Within the ‘Clinic’ tab, you can switch between “cabinets” to view their individual clinic visits and medication details.
Your school owns and controls all student records stored in MyCabinet School Health. We follow the school’s direction regarding data retention or deletion.
First, make sure you are signed into your account and that your children appear in the ‘Students’ tab. If so, then make sure your notifications are enabled for the MyCabinet app in your phone’s settings. Go into your app and click ‘Settings’. Then toggle on notifications. We recommend toggling on all notifications, especially push notifications that come directly to your mobile phone, and email notifications.
You can change the app language at any time by going to Settings → Language.
Current supported languages include:
- English
- Spanish
- Portuguese
- Haitian Creole
You can view active medications kept at school, but you cannot add or update school medications inside the app. Medication updates must be handled directly with your school clinic based on your district’s policies.
On the login screen, tap “Forgot Password?” and follow the prompts. You’ll receive a verification code by email or text to reset your password securely.
No. For security reasons, the app uses the email or phone number your school has already verified for you. If it needs to be updated, please contact your school directly.
Parents can review, correct, or request deletion of their child’s information by contacting their school directly, since they manage and control the records.
If you have general questions about the app please first view our parent app video tutorial.

The MyCabinet School Health Parent app helps bridge the gap between home and school health communications.
The app gives you a quick, secure way to see when your child has been seen in the school clinic, as well as clinic visit details, active medications kept on file at your child’s school, medication expiration alerts and reminders, and/or important school health notices — all in one place, and delivered to the palm of your hand!
Parents at participating schools will receive an activation email with a verification code. The email will come from ‘MyCabinet School Health’. If you expected to see an email from your school and do not see it, please check your spam / junk folder.
Upon receiving the activation email you’ll be prompted to complete the following steps:
- Download the MyCabinet School Health app (can be found in Apple Store and Google Play store).
- Click ‘Activate Account’ on the main login screen
- Enter your activation code from the email you receive from ‘MyCabinet School Health’
- Create your password
- The last step is now to enter a second verification code that is sent to your same email address.
- ENJOY!

We HIGHLY RECOMMEND setting up Face ID for easy login for consecutive logins to the parent app. Either way, please do securely save your assigned email and password for future logins.
Note: Only the ‘enrolling parent’ assigned for your child at their respective school will receive the activation email. At this time, only this one assigned parent is able to access the child’s account on the MyCabinet School Health parent app.
If your child has medication stored at school, the app will notify you when it’s close to expiring as well as the approximate day of expiration so you can replace it on time.
